CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels are professional skin resurfacing treatments that use carefully selected acids to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin, stimulating cell turnover and revealing healthier, smoother, and brighter skin beneath. Depending on the type and strength of the peel, treatments can improve fine lines, acne, acne scars, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, melasma, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, and overall skin texture.
At The Beaumont Med Spa, we customize each chemical peel based on your skin type, concerns, and goals. Whether you're looking for a gentle "lunchtime" peel with little downtime or a more advanced resurfacing treatment, our providers will recommend the best option for your skin.

Before Your Peel (Do's)
Schedule a consultation so your provider can determine the best peel for your skin.
Wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily.
Keep your skin well hydrated with a gentle moisturizer.
Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, prone to cold sores, or taking medications such as isotretinoin (Accutane).
Arrive with clean skin whenever possible.
Before Your Peel (Don'ts)
For approximately 5–7 days before treatment, avoid:
Retinol, Retin-A®, tretinoin, adapalene, or other prescription retinoids (unless instructed otherwise)
Exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic, mandelic, etc.)
Scrubs, cleansing brushes, or abrasive skincare products
Waxing, threading, dermaplaning, or laser treatments in the treatment area
Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds
After Your Peel (Do's)
Apply sunscreen every day and avoid direct sun exposure.
Keep the skin moisturized using products recommended by your provider.
Allow peeling skin to shed naturally.
Wash with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water.
Stay well hydrated.
Follow all post-treatment instructions provided by your provider.
After Your Peel (Don'ts)
Do not pick, peel, or pull flaking skin, as this may increase the risk of scarring or pigmentation changes.
Avoid direct sun exposure until your skin has completely healed.
Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for the first 24–48 hours or as directed.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and harsh skincare products until your provider instructs you to resume them.
Avoid waxing, dermaplaning, laser treatments, or other exfoliating procedures until your skin has fully recovered.
What to Expect
Following your treatment, your skin may appear pink or feel tight, similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the peel selected, you may experience little to no visible peeling or several days of light to moderate flaking. Most patients notice brighter, smoother skin within a week, with continued improvement over the following weeks as collagen production and cellular renewal continue.
For optimal results, chemical peels are often performed as a series and combined with a personalized skincare regimen to maintain healthy, radiant skin year-round.
