ADVANCED TESTING OPTIONS
Genomics and Genetic Testing
At The Beaumont Med Spa, we believe your DNA provides valuable insight into how your body functions. Our advanced genetic testing evaluates inherited traits that influence nutrition, hormone metabolism, exercise response, vitamin utilization, detoxification, and overall wellness. Unlike tests that diagnose disease, genetic testing helps us understand how your body is uniquely designed to function, allowing us to create highly personalized recommendations for nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle, and preventive care.
How Is Testing Performed?
Testing is simple and non-invasive. A quick swab is collected from the inside of your cheek and sent to the laboratory for analysis. To ensure the most accurate results, please avoid eating, drinking, chewing gum, or placing anything in your mouth for 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
Our Genetic Testing Options
Comprehensive Nutrition & Wellness Panel
Our most comprehensive panel analyzes more than 350 genetic variations related to nutrition, metabolism, exercise performance, vitamin requirements, and overall wellness. Combined with specialized laboratory testing and body composition analysis, this panel helps create a truly personalized health and wellness plan.
Men's Health Genetics
Designed to evaluate genetic factors that influence testosterone metabolism, estrogen conversion, metabolic health, blood pressure regulation, and other pathways that may contribute to fatigue, weight gain, low libido, hair loss, and hormonal imbalance.
Women's Health Genetics
Evaluates genes involved in hormone metabolism, estrogen and progesterone balance, methylation, thyroid function, insulin resistance, PCOS risk, vitamin metabolism, and inherited clotting tendencies. This information helps guide personalized hormone optimization and preventive health strategies.
Methylation & Foundation Panel
Approximately one-third of the population carries genetic variations that affect methylation, the body's ability to properly utilize nutrients such as folate and vitamin B12. This panel evaluates genes including MTHFR and other important methylation pathways involved in energy production, cardiovascular health, detoxification, inflammation, and cellular repair.
Detoxification Genetics
Assesses genes involved in antioxidant function, glutathione production, and detoxification pathways to help identify areas where targeted nutritional support may improve the body's natural ability to manage oxidative stress and environmental toxins.
Essential Vitamins Panel
Identifies inherited variations that may affect the absorption, transport, activation, and utilization of key vitamins and nutrients, allowing supplementation to be tailored to your individual genetic needs.
Gastrointestinal Genetics
Evaluates genes associated with gut health, including histamine metabolism, probiotic requirements, gluten sensitivity, immune function, and intestinal barrier support. This panel can be especially beneficial for individuals with chronic digestive concerns or food sensitivities.
Hair Loss Genetics
Combines genetic analysis with lifestyle and health history to identify factors that contribute to hair thinning and alopecia, allowing for more personalized treatment recommendations.
BRCA Genetic Testing
The Beaumont Med Spa offers BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic testing for individuals who may have a personal or family history suggestive of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome. BRCA genes normally help repair damaged DNA and protect against cancer. However, certain inherited changes (mutations) in these genes can significantly increase the lifetime risk of developing breast, ovarian, prostate, pancreatic, and other cancers.
BRCA testing is performed with a simple cheek swab and can help determine whether you carry one of these inherited genetic variants. Understanding your genetic risk allows you and your healthcare team to make informed decisions regarding cancer screening, prevention strategies, lifestyle modifications, and, when appropriate, referrals for specialized care. Our providers carefully review your personal and family history to determine whether BRCA testing is appropriate and discuss your results in the context of your overall health and individualized care plan.
How Genetic Testing Benefits Your Care
Your DNA doesn't determine your future—it helps us better understand your body's strengths and vulnerabilities. By identifying important genetic variations (SNPs), we can create a personalized wellness plan focused on optimizing nutrition, hormone balance, supplementation, exercise, and lifestyle while helping reduce the risk of future health concerns. The result is precision medicine designed specifically for you.
Why is the women’s health panel important?
This panel allows us to look at all aspects of women’s health. Did you know that women are 20 TIMES more likely to have a thyroid issue than men, and the thyroid can significantly impact health when imbalanced? Hormone imbalances (thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) can contribute to weight gain, sleep disruptions, fatigue, and mood changes. In women, estrogen-related issues heighten the risk of cancer, blood clots, miscarriage, and more. These imbalances can affect blood pressure, fluid balance, and increase hypertension risk. Recognizing signs like irregular menstrual cycles, mood swings, and low libido is crucial, and that is where this panel is so important to understanding your genetic make up. NAD+ Testing
NAD+ has become one of the most talked-about topics in health and wellness—and for good reason. This essential coenzyme plays a critical role in cellular energy production, healthy aging, DNA repair, brain function, metabolism, and hundreds of other biological processes. However, NAD+ therapy is not appropriate for everyone.
At The Beaumont Med Spa, we believe in testing before treating. Simply increasing NAD+ without understanding your body's current levels or its ability to produce and utilize NAD efficiently may not provide the desired benefits and, in some individuals, may contribute to unwanted symptoms. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we recommend evaluating your NAD status before considering supplementation or infusion therapy.
Our NAD+ Profile measures circulating levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and its key metabolites, providing valuable insight into your cellular energy production and metabolic health. Because NAD+ is involved in more than 500 enzymatic reactions throughout the body—including mitochondrial function, DNA repair, cellular communication, and healthy aging—understanding your individual NAD status allows us to determine whether NAD therapy is appropriate and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs.
GI Spotlight
GI Spotlight™ Gut Testing is a comprehensive stool analysis that provides an in-depth evaluation of digestive health, gut function, and the microbiome. This advanced test goes beyond routine digestive screening by assessing microbial balance, digestive efficiency, nutrient absorption, inflammation, immune activity, and markers of gut barrier integrity.
Using a simple stool sample, GI Spotlight™ can identify imbalances in beneficial bacteria, opportunistic organisms, and yeast while evaluating how effectively your digestive system is breaking down and absorbing nutrients. It also measures markers of intestinal inflammation and immune function that may contribute to symptoms such as bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, irregular bowel habits, and food sensitivities.
The results provide valuable insight into your unique gut health, allowing your provider to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include dietary modifications, targeted supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations to support digestive wellness and overall health.
Hormone Metabolite Testing
Hormone Metabolite Testing provides a comprehensive 24-hour assessment of estrogen, progesterone, androgen, and adrenal hormone metabolism through a specialized urine collection. Unlike a single blood draw, this test evaluates how your body produces, metabolizes, and clears hormones throughout the day, offering valuable insight into hormone balance, adrenal function, and overall metabolic health. Using advanced LC-MS/MS technology, it delivers highly accurate measurements of hormone metabolites and key metabolic pathways.
This testing can help identify patterns in estrogen metabolism and methylation, androgen metabolism, cortisol and cortisone rhythms, DHEA production, and other hormone pathways that influence energy, stress resilience, menstrual health, fertility, libido, mood, and overall wellness. These results allow your provider to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include targeted nutrition, lifestyle modifications, supplements, and hormone optimization strategies.
Please note: Hormone Metabolite Testing is a functional wellness assessment designed to provide additional clinical insight. It is not a diagnostic test and is not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or most commercial medical insurance plans.
